So I noticed yesterday, to my dismay, that MissHotcakes received some negative feedback on Etsy. this is extremely disappointing to me because I do my best to ship as quickly as possible, offer fair/reasonable prices, and clean all vintage pieces as best I can before I ship them off to their new homes. Perhaps I shouldn’t draw attention to this, however, this is what a blog is for, no?
I know it’s a fact of life that you can’t make everyone happy all the time, but I would have liked to have at least had a convo with this person before they publicly stated that I suck…but…what are you gonna do? apparently the piece was dusty and “dirty” (which…it was not, but I digress…) I’m definitely not trying to call this person out or anything, but I did want to share a few things, with you, my three or four readers, to feel better about this situation…
Vintage is vintage and things are not always in perfect condition, so yeah, you may get something that may be a little dry, crackly, or what-have-you. I take pictures…I don’t alter them in any way…and if there’s something wrong with it, I state it in the description so things like this don’t happen. I don’t mean to discount this person’s thought that she got a sub-par product, but I must respectfully disagree.
I didn’t think something like this would bother me so much, but…guess what!? It did, and I suppose this is only because I do care about MissHotcakes so much.
The one thing that helps me feel better about it is all my other satisfied customers and their lovely feedback they’ve left. I know I have gone out of my way on many occasions to make my customers happy, so I suppose in the end, that’s what I can take comfort in.
